Looking Inward & Outward (with the goggle of Faith) – Part 100

Posted: October 30, 2019 in Uncategorized

Dearly Beloved,

The following is another attempt to use the goggle of Faith to weigh various inspired thoughts, on another blessed day.

1. While being subject to His parents; while running errands and serving, Jesus spiritually grew in wisdom, grace, glory and honor, above Adam, Enoch, Abraham, Moses etc.; even until He became The Christ (Lk. 2:50-52, Phil. 2:2-7). So, if we would ever come into the exaltation that the gospel offers, like His apostles/servants also did; then submission must mean to us what it meant to them (1Pet. 5:5-6, Jam. 4:6).

2. Sin and death were born in a glorious angel who rebelled against spiritual authority (order), and no man has ever overcame it who didn’t employ seasons of submission where the Lord trains and helps men to be subject to the law of God (i.e. Christ); even while being subject to various forms of constituted authority that He has set; either in marriage or within and without the Church/body of Christ (Eph. 5:24-25, 1Pet. 2:18, Tit. 3:1).

3. The home was the Lord’s design to culture a soul with a submissive spirit, and those who become adults without this formation are mostly difficult to correct or instruct. Without it, we would struggle with the process that gives birth to a child in the Kingdom; the process of growth from faith, through hope to Charity (Prov. 22:6, Lk. 2:51, 2Pet. 1:5-7).

4. One gracious biblical provision that should break the will of the natural man and also bring about the formation of Christ in us, are seasons/experiences where – like Moses – we are taught and trained to sumit to certain men, in unfavourable and unpleasant looking situations that would make us meek and meeker (Exo. 3:1-4:18, Num. 12:3). It is a major curriculum of believing in Christ; of enduring unto the end, the process(es) that will break our will and thereby shape His will in us (1Jn. 5:1a, Jam. 5:11).

5. When you want to falsely empower a carnally minded soul or feed the fallen nature in man, simply hype or dangle the carrots of liberalism or societal rights before him. But when you want to truly empower a soul to live in the sight of the Lord, collect his rights by teaching him to be subject to various constituted authority that God has set: either at home, or in marriage, or among men/institutions (1Cor. 11:3, Lk. 2:52).

May the watchword of our Lord Jesus (i.e. humility; meekness/lowliness), become our daily watchword. Amen.

Blessings!
