Looking Inward & Outward (with the goggle of Faith) – Part 95

Posted: October 29, 2019 in Looking inward and outward (with the google of faith)

Dearly Beloved,

The following is another attempt to use the goggle of Faith to weigh various inspired thoughts, on another blessed day.

1. Unbelief always set in whenever we stare long enough on a mountain or problem, rather than stare long enough on the word or the commandments governing that issue or expectation; or whenever we (unlike the fowls of the air) take thoughts for our life or for tomorrow. It would always show up as a fall back alternative to the unknown or to things/issues that we should strictly relate with by faith (Lk. 1:18-20, Matt. 6:25-34).

2. There are shades and lumps of unbelief in the soul of everyone who is yet to believe God’s great and precious promises; in the heart of everyone with an attitude that questions God’s insistence on relating by faith with things unseen or hoped for. The Lord can only expose and help us deal with our unbelief, when (like in Abraham) they can lead us into seasons/through paths where we are not in control of things; when we have to trust Him to bring to pass what He has promised; in His own way, at His own time and with His resources (Gen. 18:14).

3. Nothing stands between our past and future in God, like unbelief, and nothing shows up when we want to make a clean break from our past or when we want to embrace an entirely new season, like unbelief. Even after the offerings/lusts from this world has lost its value to our souls, unbelief would still keep showing up and tempt us to settle for glories that are less than God’s promise of rest/eternal life. It will stair us in the face and “beg” to be entertained – like it did to a matured Hebrew Church and to our Lord Jesus in His last years of sonship (Heb. 3:1/4:15).

4. For believers to become all that heaven is calling them to be or for our souls to become an habitation for Christ and God; we have to fight everything that unbelief has said, is saying and will say; even until we fully arrive in God or attain God rest. The faith of Christ is the first source of strength, while the Love of God in Christ Jesus is the fulness of strength required to overcome all proposals/offers of unbelief; such that can and has limited even some who partook of the feasts of Charity/Christ – from becoming sons of God (Phil. 3:14, 1Jn. 3:2a Rev. 3:25-28).

5. The more our soul is emptied of its ability to judge according to the sight of the eyes and hearing of the ears, the more it is emptied of the ability to respond in unbelief to God’s promises (Isa. 11:3, Heb. 4:1-2). The wilderness (i.e. the learning of Christ) is God’s instrument that begins this process; that rid us of the things of man in us, so we can entertain the things (riches) of Christ and ultimately of God (1Cor. 2:9-11).

6. A believer cannot come into seasons of inheriting the name/nature of Christ and God, without being confronted in different ways and proposals, by the spirit of unbelief: like Adam was in Eden: like the 12 spies were faced while spying out the land (Canaan): and like the Hebrews Church were – when meant to move from the doctrine of Christ into perfection (Heb. 5:12-6:1). Our ability to wisely place our eyes off those proposals and on the word of Christ/God, while being deaf, blind and numb to everything the devil is flaunting and saying concerning our past and future, would determine our victory our such battles.

Blessings!
