Looking Inward & Outward (With the goggle of Faith) – Part 32

Posted: October 5, 2018 in Looking inward and outward (with the google of faith)

Dearly Beloved,

The following is another attempt to use the goggle of Faith to weigh and filter various thoughts from conversations under the sun, on another blessed day. Gracious reading!

1. When the outward success of a carnal or spiritual man, of an enterprise or a ministry becomes your meditation, the temptations of envying, evil speaking, competition, hustling, strife etc. becomes inevitable. Man’s soul was designed to always have a meditation, which must either be falsehood or truth, flesh or the Spirit, Christ or this world, God’s Word or everything else inferior or contrary to this (Jos. 1:8, Ps. 1:2, 119:97).

2. God does nothing without or beyond His word, and if He can’t get a believer to come to His terms with His words, or if a believer can’t mix such words or commandments with faith in his heart, then the devil will use his ignorance to limit him from attaining God’s promise – however anointed he is. When unrepentant, such a one would gradually be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin and may end up losing his lot in the kingdom; in the city of God (Heb. 3:12-13, 4:2, 1Jn. 2:19-20, Rev. 3:5/22:19).

3. When the devil can no more get you to take thought for your life concerning a particular legitimate natural orspiritual issue or need, then he can no longer get you anxious there; neither can he think through you or get you to disobey a law of faith like he used to. You have just come over or overcome a warfare in the spirit, and are better prepared for many others lined up for you.

4. A wise man once said, “Your status in God can be determined when what Satan says has become useless to you”, and for us to arrive here, we have to daily tap into a trade secret of our Lord Jesus. We have to delightfully live by His commandments, or live on every word that proceeds out of the mouth of the Father, or seek not our own will, or do nothing of ourselves and for ourselves outside what heaven has revealed from above (Jn. 5:19, 30).

5. There are many things the Lord can’t draw our attention to, when we are always on a busy cycle that He can’t interrupt; when we are busier than He once was, and with what He wasn’t busy with while on earth, and unknown to many, while their activities around Christianity continue and increase, true growth in the spirit remains on hold; even a growth in grace meant to enable them relate more supernaturally with the natural (2Pet. 3:18).

6. There was a dominant thought upon the heart and mind of our Lord Jesus in every hour of His life/walk on earth. Like David, it was His meditation all day long which made every temptation that came His way, weightless, meaningless and worthless. That thought/meditation was His Father’s will, which became the food of His soul in no time, and this must someday become ours also (Ps. 119:97, Jn. 4:34).

7. What makes the earth a beautiful place to behold in God’s sight is not the presence of architectural edifices or beautifully shaped landscapes and cities. Rather, it is the presence of His sons; of His many sons being raised at this hour, of those meek men who’ll become the true kings of the earth – with the spiritual deed of title over territories they occupy in the spirit. Such is the lot of those who have resigned to the leading of His Spirit, who daily resist corruption with an incorruptible life and always import into their flesh, the conversations that would be preeminent in the world to come (Num. 12:3, Matt. 5:5, Rev. 14:4-5).

8. The devil is always out to sap our soul of inner strength, peace and joy! He mostly does so by selling well presented thoughts of what others expect or thinks about us, all so he can think through us, get us anxious, interrupt our walk in the Spirit and get us to react in fear (Exo. 14:13, Isa. 26:3, Phil. 4:8-9).

9. If the Lord always grants prompt answers to some of our prayers on pressing natural or assumed spiritual needs, especially in seasons when he is dealing with us as unto spiritual, we would rather seek Him for the cares of this life rather than selflessly for His will, so He sometimes delays answers to such prayers in our long term interest, until there is an heartfelt engagement that would make us fetch more burden to remain in fellowship after such answers come.

10. There is nothing wrong in owning or having things; in the lawful use of vanity, even the things of this world, but there is everything wrong and unsafe in not going against the laws of lust that govern all things the natural eyes can see, before and after we own such things. We’ll remain unsafe and strangers to God’s life and nature by remaining unlearned in the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus or entangled in a lustful world (1Cor. 6:12, 7:31, 2Pet. 1:4).

Blessings!
