A Closer Look @ The Man In Christ – Part 19

… ANOTHER LOOK ON THE ESSENCE OF WAITING TO LIVE

Dearly Beloved,

Findings available from the days when the Holy Spirit was sent into all the earth reveal that if we can seasonally wait on the revelation of Christ (Matt. 16:16a/Eph. 13a/1Jn. 5:1a) as the Lord (Jer. 23:6/Acts 2:36/ Eph. 4:5/2Cor. 6:17c) and as God (Isa. 9:6d/2Cor. 6:18c/Heb. 1:8/Rev. 4:8), we would be raised above our enemies (Ps. 110:1/Lk. 1:74/Eph. 6:12) and would inherit God (2Pet. 1:4a/Rev. 12:5/21:3/7). We would be graced to deliver Christ and God to those previously entangled in seeking God for things (Isa. 4:1/Matt. 6:31-32).

Waiting to acquire life first has always been the toughest and wisest thing to do – because of our common adversary. It was the culture of the Spirit that raised elders (prophets) in most generations and Genesis chapter 5 detailed the accounts of some of such wise and faithful men that waited for decades/over a century to beget life before begetting children. We later saw this same order of waiting during the days of Abraham and Zachariah when unusual seeds were to be raised unto God as great prophets of their day (Gen. 17:24-18:14/Lk. 1:5-7).

  • Gen. 5:6 And Seth lived an hundred and five years, and begat Enos:
  • Gen. 5:28 And Lamech lived an hundred eighty and two years, and begat a son:

These elders developed a prophetic nature with a lifestyle of consistent warfare against the world that earned them a kind of dominion that slowed down Satan’s reign lustful drive to take the air (Eph. 2:2b/Isa. 14:12a/1Thes.4:17/Rev. 12:7a); to morph from being a serpent to being a dragon (Gen. 3:1/Rev. 12:7). They were not just prophets by virtue of anointing upon but prophets by virtue of their inward stature/prophetic development.

Isaiah’s prophesy on waiting on the Lord (Isa. 40:31) pertains to those who would come to God through power and increased strength – i.e. from faith to faith (Isa. 40:29/Rom. 1:16a/17a/Eph 1:19/Col. 1:10c-11). As a prophet of the holy place, he prophesied concerning those who would become virgins while being espoused to Christ in the holy place (Matt. 25:1/2Cor. 11:2); those meant to become the bride of Christ (Matt. 25:5-6/Rev. 21:2-3) that would qualify to meet with God in the holiest of all;  those meant to go through a grace preparation in Christ (Acts 20:32/Gal. 4:19) for a glory encounter with God (Ps. 84:11/Rev. 12:5)

So waiting was (and remains) a culture of the Spirit that men laid down their lives for – and became the elders/sons of God of their day (Gen. 6:2/Lk. 3:38/Rom. 8:14-19/Heb. 11:4-7/Rev. 12:11). By seeking righteousness first – with their life/youthfulness – even unto death (Gen. 4:4-8/Matt. 14:2-10/Rev. 12:11), these prophets became “more than prophets” (Matt. 11:9). They counted the cost of preserving faith (righteousness) as a legacy on earth and committed God to immortalize their names in scriptures. They waited on the face/presence/knowledge of the Lord (Gen. 4:14/16) which was responsible for preparing them to walk with/experience God (Gen. 5:24).

  • Gen. 5:22 And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah (after living by faith for 65 years – Gen. 5:21) three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters:
  • 2Cor. 6:16 … as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them (i.e. after living by faith, after being chastened and fathered by Christ or after overcoming – Heb. 12:7-9/Rev. 2:7/11/17/26/3:5/12/21); and I will be their God, and they shall be my people

So through the technology of waiting, these men (prophets) lived like the fowls of the air and the lilies the field do – taking no thought of their life or for tomorrow (Matt. 6:25-34). They fought not to offend faith life that the knowledge of the Lord was communicating – until they earned a testimony before God that they lived (Gen. 5:3-32/Heb. 11:2-39). Indeed, the world was unworthy of them! They were separated by their sights, and pressed closer to the prophetic stature/greatness of John the Baptist’s and Adam – men who were more than prophets because of their testament.

  • Jn. 5:19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth (secret of prophetic nature development) the Father do:

But by Genesis 6, the order of waiting to attain stature in life (against flesh/the world) and of contending for faith was disobeyed by most spiritual sons of their day (Gen. 6:2). The leading of the Spirit through which God raised and kept sons depleted; faith was stolen from the earth and men dropped from being Adamic (i.e. a living soul – 1Cor. 15:45) to a state called flesh (Gen. 6:3/12/13/Rom. 8:6). Men used their stature in the spirit to promote flesh and became independent of God – and stopped living!

  • Gen. 6:2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose (i.e. contrary to the leading of the Spirit – vs. 3).
  • Heb. 12:9b … shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?

But thanks be unto God for a New and eternal testament today, ratified by the blood (life) of Jesus; which continues to speak and promises a better quality of life/living (i.e. God’s righteousness) that guarantees our overcoming/perfection (Heb. 6:1b/11:39c-40). It is on this ground we have been called to fight the fallen state of an angelic testament – the fallen law/walk of Faith and Love that once made a Cherub/angel glorious; laws that mutated via lust to become the law/walk of sin and death (Eze. 28:12-17/Rom. 8:2)

It would take the eternal laws of the New Testament, domiciled in the blood of the lamb and administered by the eternal Spirit to make us lambs that can overcome the devil (Rev. 14:1-5). It would take our ownership of the lights, laws and commandment of Faith and Love that fashioned Jesus to become the Alpha and Omega to secure this victory.

In Christ Jesus, we keep acquiring life for the days ahead until it becomes ours (Jn. 10:10d/Col. 3:4b), and we can only do so by Christ’s Faith/testament which is different in substance/spiritual understanding (Heb. 11:1/3a) from all other previous expressions of faith/testaments from Abel’s Day. As we do so, we would ultimately commend the appearing of our great God – into our very flesh (Tit. 2:13/1Tim. 3:16a).

The faith of their day (of living souls) was as unpopular and unwelcomed as the Faith of the Son is today – yet some (Heb. 4:6) contended for it – because their souls needed a rest that only comes though such faiths of testament, and the choice to do likewise remain ours. Selah.

Blessings!
