… AN APPRAISAL ON THE ART OF LEARNING “HOW NOT TO DIE”

Dearly Beloved,

One thing that the Lord Jesus would like us all to see as clearly like he did long before he finished his faith course and overcame the world at the age of 30 is the phenomenon called death. As we receive His righteousness judgments on this elusive subject would help us to demystify everything that the enemy represents, which in turn would enable us complete not just our faith course but also our love course.

  • Heb. 2:14-15 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death (Heb. 2:8) he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
  • Heb. 2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death (forbearing, learning and interpreting the curriculum of God’s Faith from the age of 12 to 30), even the death of the cross (forbearing, learning and interpreting the curriculum of God’s Love from the age of 30 to 33)

Various references to death in the epistles of Paul and Peter, and in the super epistles of John, have to do with our cup; sufferings that should enable us interpret all of Christ’s life. The power of death is the working of corruption through lust, that promises to bring a soul to a place where he can’t repent anymore (Ps. 16:10/Acts 2:27/2Pet. 1:4). It is the perverted passion of an angel who defiled his love for God; a one-time wonder of creation that was once clothed with light (Eze. 28:14-18); a being that once walked in a realm of oath with God.

The reason God the Father gave his only begotten son to us was not so that we can be materially blessed or receive healing etc (though he still provides for such), but it was so that his enemy (which we share in common) could be destroyed (1Jn. 3:8). So God begun this by the conversations of His Faith which Jesus received over decades (i.e. obedience to faith) and culminated in his encounter at Jordan (Matt. 4). However, the adventure against death was only his completed by the conversations of His Love which Jesus received in his last three years (i.e. obedience of love) from Jordan to Gethsemane. By partaking of these cups (the cup of God’s Faith and the cup of God’s Love), our Lord Jesus destroyed the devil.

  • 2Tim. 1:10 But (the power of God – vs. 8) is now made manifest by the appearing (daily revelations of His Faith) of our Savior Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life (His Faith) and immortality (God’s Love) to light through the gospel
  • Heb. 5:8 Though he were a Son (of God’s Faith), yet learned he obedience (of God’s Love) by the things which he suffered

By demystifying the lifestyle called godliness (2Pet. 1:13), Jesus interpreted the operations of God’s Power (God’s Faith) and simultaneously destroyed him that hath the power of death (Heb. 2:14). It was through this same working of God’s Faith (Rom. 5:1) that our Lord Jesus received various justifications in the Spirit (i.e. the declarations of “this is my beloved son”).

Angels marveled as they saw the conversations of God’s divine power in and through man for the first time! By this same power, Jesus preached unto the Gentiles and was believed on in the world. THE FAITH OF GOD therefore became THE FAITH OF THE SON and THE LOVE OF GOD also became THE LOVE OF CHRIST, and Jesus fully interpreted these natures in God before he was received up into glory.

So the problem of, or the actual need of believers is not what most believers seek God for – i.e food, clothing, shelter, healing, and material prosperity. Our greatest problem is our unknown enemy; the Fear of death (Heb. 2:14-15) which is the fear of losing what the world calls “our lives”, which keeps us in a state of heart called unbelief. It’s the fear of laying down the glory (wisdom) of the fallen flesh and of the flower of the grass (Isa. 40:6/Jam. 1:1-11/1Pet. 1:24). Man’s problem is the fear of being chastened like father Abraham was; the fear of dying to our home grown love – Isaac. Our fears are the wrong pictures of tomorrow, painted on the canvass of our souls from the pulpit on many occasions; false evidences that keeps us imprisoned from adventuring God’s offer of life (divine power). Jn. 10:10/2Pet. 1:3

To break into the curriculum (cup) of the Faith of the Son, Paul the Apostle had to counsel the Philippians to “be careful (anxious) for nothing(Phil. 4:6)! When last have we heard or received such tutorial? Believers today would rather hear things that are not after Christ (Col. 2:8) but learn how to use their natural minds so that they can become better than/or compete favorably with the world. These are but vain philosophies that has left many believers as strangers to God’s power.

So nothing endears us to the father and nothing prepares us for him like obedience unto death – i.e. the death of the soul to anything and everything never originated from the beginning – everything that never originated from God (1Jn. 1:1/2:7/2:13). This is the syllabus of divine power where we “carry our cross daily” and experience “the dying of the Lord” which we must complete if we are to ever become transmitters of God’s Faith (Life) to posterity. This also is the syllabus of immortality, the ultimate chapter where Christ got to, where his apostles craved for the opportunity to obey the death of the cross (Phil. 3:10/Heb. 2:8).

  • 2Cor. 4:10 Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus (via troubles, perplexities, persecutions), that the life (Christ’s faith) also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body (which is the best remedy to sicknesses and diseases today)

Christ has abolished death, and brought life and immortality to life, and these are they two eternal commodities we are to showcase to nations, tribes, kindred and people, in the days of our flesh.

Blessings!
